Introduction

These Terms and Conditions apply to promotional offers and marketing communications issued by Business Channel Australia Pty Ltd t/a Opt Energy (“Opt Energy”) in relation to products and services provided under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.

Indicative Pricing

  • Where a price in a marketing communication is expressed as ‘from $X’, this is an indicative starting price only and, where indicated, reflects the price after applicable VEU program discounts have been applied.
  • If you are not eligible for a VEU discount, your actual price will be higher.
  • The full price before any discount and the discounted price (if applicable) will be set out clearly in your formal quote.
  • Opt Energy will not proceed with any installation until you have received and accepted a formal written quote.

Eligibility Requirements

All offers are subject to eligibility under the VEU program and Opt Energy requirements, including but not limited to:
  • Property type and condition
  • Existing equipment and configuration
  • Location and accessibility
  • Customer eligibility under relevant government programs
  • Site Assessment

Site Assessment and Final Quote

  • Before any installation, Opt Energy will conduct a site assessment (which may be carried out in person or remotely, for example by reviewing photographs of the property) to confirm product suitability, installation requirements, and final pricing.
  • A formal written quote will be provided to you after the site assessment.
  • You are under no obligation to proceed until you have accepted the quote.
  • If unforeseen additional costs are identified at the point of installation, you will be informed immediately and are under no obligation to proceed.
  • If we are unable to complete the installation as originally quoted, we will restore your property to the state it was in before work commenced.
  • If you accept a formal quote and then cancel before installation, a cancellation fee of $200 applies.

Additional Costs

Additional costs may apply depending on:
  • Installation complexity
  • Electrical or structural requirements
  • System upgrades or modifications
  • Any additional costs will be clearly communicated in the final quote

Government Incentives and Rebates

  • Where an indicative price in a marketing communication has been calculated on the basis that a VEU program discount applies, it will be stated that the pricing is subject to VEU eligibility.
  • The discount amount is not fixed and will depend on the Victorian Energy Efficiency
  • Certificate (VEEC) market price at the time of your installation.
  • If you are assessed as ineligible for a VEU discount, the indicative price in the marketing communication will not be achievable and your actual price will be higher.
  • Your formal quote will clearly set out the full price before any discount and the discounted price (if applicable), so you can see exactly what you will pay.
  • Opt Energy does not guarantee the availability or amount of any incentive.

Product and Installation Variability

  • Product specifications, brands, and configurations may vary
  • Installation requirements differ between properties
  • Images and descriptions in marketing materials are for illustrative purposes only

No Misleading Representations

Opt Energy aims to ensure all marketing is accurate and not misleading. However:

  • Marketing materials are intended to provide general information only
  • Customers should rely on the final quote and documentation provided.

Changes to Offers

Opt Energy reviews its indicative pricing regularly to reflect current VEEC market conditions. If VEEC prices or other factors change significantly after you have responded to a marketing communication but before you receive a formal quote, Opt Energy will notify you of the updated indicative pricing before proceeding. You are under no obligation to proceed with a formal quote or installation. Marketing communications will be updated promptly if the indicative prices they contain are no longer achievable for eligible consumers.
