1. About Us

Opt Energy is a Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) Accredited Provider.
Location: 16/36 Sabre Drive, Port Melbourne, VIC 3207

2. Eligibility for VEU Program

Our products and services (including but not limited to Heat Pumps, Air Conditioning, Solar, and Weather Sealing) are often subsidized under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program.

Eligibility: Eligibility is determined by current Victorian Government guidelines. Opt Energy does not guarantee eligibility until a formal assessment is completed.

Benefit Assignment: By accepting a subsidized installation, you agree to assign the Victorian Energy Efficiency Certificates (VEECs) generated by the upgrade to Opt Energy. You acknowledge that you cannot assign these certificates to another provider for the same upgrade.

3. Quotes and Pricing

Estimates: Any online calculators or preliminary quotes provided on this website are estimates only and subject to a site inspection.

Standard Installation: “Free” or “Subsidized” offers typically cover standard installations. Non-standard requirements (e.g., switchboard upgrades, difficult access, double-storey properties) may incur additional costs, which will be communicated to you prior to commencement.

4. Installation and Access

Site Access: You agree to provide our licensed electricians and installers safe and clear access to your property at the agreed time.

Safety: You must ensure that the installation area is free of hazards (e.g., asbestos, loose wiring) prior to our arrival. Opt Energy reserves the right to refuse installation if the site is deemed unsafe.

Authority: You warrant that you are the property owner or have the explicit written permission of the owner to authorise these upgrades.

5. Warranties and Liability

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

Major Failure: You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

Defects: You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Warranty Periods: Specific warranty periods for hardware (e.g., Emerald Heat Pumps, Solar Panels) are provided by the respective manufacturers. Opt Energy provides a warranty on workmanship as required by Victorian law.

6. Cancellations

If you wish to cancel a scheduled installation, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice. Failure to provide notice may result in a call-out fee to cover our administrative and travel costs.
